Big Big on the BattenKill Kayaking & Tubing
The river is best known for it's trout fly fishing, kayaking and tubing with it's open meadows, gentle landscape and clear pools in wonderful harmony with the valley's picturesque villages. While the river rises in East Dorset, Vt. it travels down through Arlington, Vt. and passes through Cambridge, NY.
Come on out to visit Big Big on the Battenkill, located in west Arlington...only a 50 minute drive from Saratoga Springs, Ballston Spa and surrounding areas. Rent a kayak to travel the scenic view or we offer tubes as well for a relaxing, slow flow down the BattenKill River or the "Dionoondwhowee" as the natives used to refer to it. Pack a picnic and make it a summer day to remember!
The location to meet and park your car is located at the NY public service road and parking lot located on Google Maps at : https://goo.gl/maps/V6KxGabV3t12
There we meet at your reserved pick up time with a gray van with black and orange tubes and/or kayaks. If you do not see us there we will be there, we are just running others up river. YOU MUST CALL A HEAD. If I do not answer leave me the day and time you wish to float, the number in your group, and if tubing or kayaking. I WILL RETURN YOUR CALL. I am just running people up river and there is no cell service on that section of the river.
When you are done floating you will land back at your car. It is that simple.
Water shoes of any sort, preferably not flip flops, are highly recommended in the event you have to stand and walk or if you choose to stand and walk. Nothing but rocks and very hard on the feet if bare foot.
We do have life jackets if they are required and at no additional fee. We have limited floating coolers so be sure to ask if we have one available to reserve for you.
